Preparation of skin gives a flawless base for your makeup to go for long. Not preparing your skin is like you are damaging your skin. Take a concept of a car, just like you would not take your car for a long journey without making sure it has enough fuel, same concept applied on makeup. You should make sure that your base is flawless for long lasting makeup. If you are looking for what to apply on face before makeup, continue reading our blog. For a perfect look of face makeup (चेहरे का मेकअप) follow the makeup order steps.

Here are the steps

STEP 1. CLEANSE

Makeup

Wash your face with lukewarm water. Use a soft and mild cleanser to help you even out your skin tone. This will further help make your skin smoother. Choosing the right cleanser for your skin is the first step towards preparation of skin. Be sure to check the ingredients of the cleanser you choose. There should be no glycolic acid as it may cause redness and irritation. Further, look for a pH-balanced cleanser. Ideally, your skin’s natural pH should stay between 5 and 6. The lower the pH number the more acidic it is. If you do not have any serious skin problems, it is ideal for you to find a cleanser that matches your skin’s pH balance. If you have acne-prone skin, look for a cleanser that is slightly more acidic as it will help your skin fight bacteria.

STEP 2. EXFOLIATE

Makeup

The main culprit of the cakey makeup is the dead skin cells. Exfoliate means removing dead skin cells from the skin and uncovering the new smooth skin beneath your dead cells. Choose a gentle scrub which has tiny granules circular in shape as rough particles can tear your skin and; make it dry. Your face also needs to be exfoliated to remove any dead skin cells that may be clogging your pores.

We suggest exfoliating your face right after cleansing. After cleansing, gently massage your exfoliator scrub of your choice in circular motion to the skin. But before choosing your exfoliator try doing a patch test to ensure you don’t have a reaction. After exfoliating skin, wash it with lukewarm water. Another step in face preparation.

STEP 3. TONE

Makeup

Apply toner before makeup. People often ignore toner or serum, although it is just as crucial as cleanser and serum. Once you have exfoliated your skin well, apply a toner or serum suitable to your skin and let it dry. If you are not sure what to apply- toner or serum? Here is the solution- Toner works for extremely oily skin while Serum works for dry skin as it hydrates the skin very well. Choose a serum that contains Vitamin C, Sodium hyaluronate and Herbs. Vitamin C smoothen the skin, Sodium Hyaluronate seals the moisture level of skin and Herbs hydrate the skin and minimise ageing. Use toner or serum before makeup to get a perfect look of face.

STEP 4. EYE CREAM

Makeup

This step comes before moisturising. It helps to moisturise and even out the skin tone around your eyes to make you look more awake. The area around your eyes is very sensitive, thin and fragile; so, make sure you put your eye cream correctly.

STEP 5. MOISTURISE

Makeup

Use moisturizer before makeup. This step is compulsory whether your skin is oily or dry. Ideally there are two types of moisturiser. One for day that is lighter and includes an SPF; and one for night that is a bit heavier. For makeup, the lighter one will be used so the base will not become oily. Choose a moisturiser that includes SPF 15 to protect your skin from the sun. Make sure you use a moisturiser that suits your skin type and keep skin hydrated. Way of applying moisturiser is by pressing it onto the skin and not by rubbing it in. This will allow it to seep properly into the skin.

Choosing your moisturiser is a very important thing. If you struggle with breakouts and/or oily skin look for oil-free moisturisers that are non-comedogenic. If you have dry skin, you can look for creams that are a bit thicker to wear during the day. A thicker cream is the best moisturizer before makeup will also give you a dewy look. Apply cream on face to moisturise it as it works as a makeup moisturizer

STEP 6. PRIIME

Makeup

Cleansing, exfoliating, toning and moisturising are important parts of your skin care routine—but when it comes to all-day makeup, applying primer may be the most essential step. Primer helps to extend the longevity of your makeup products; and sets the base for a flawless makeup application. It also acts as a barrier to fill in any lines in your skin so that makeup does not crease in them.

Here are many, many types of makeup primer available on the market, so choose one that will suit your needs. For example, if you suffer from acne or redness on your face preparation, a light green primer will work well to reduce the redness. Primers that contain silicone are also a great option as the silicone acts as a barrier. This not only helps makeup go on smoothly and last longer; but also helps in keeping the oil in your skin from mixing with your makeup. If you have confusion between primer or moisturizer first, then don’t be so, look out the whole process for preparing your skin for makeup.

STEP 7. PREP YOUR LIPS

Makeup

Your skin prep is not over yet, show some love and care to your pout also. If you choose a liquid or classy matte lipstick formula on your dry lips; it will make your lipstick appear flaky or uneven. Before applying any colour, you will need to prepare your lips in order to help the colour go on smoothly and evenly; and to help it last longer.

Exfoliate your lips using a clean, damp washcloth. Using small circular motions, gently massage your lips to remove any dead skin. If your skin is sensitive, you should do this at night, before going to bed; rather than right before applying makeup. If you are short on time, you can use your lip balm of choice, and smooth it on your lips. Allow it to set for at least 10 minutes in order to soak into your lips. By the time you’ve finished the rest of your makeup, your lips will be good to go.
